UFOINFO Sighting Form Report

Location: Mackay/Queensland/Australia

Date: August 14 2009

Time: Roughly 7:10pm

Number of witnesses: 1

Number of objects: 1

Shape of objects: Looked like a star

Weather Conditions: Clear night sky

Description: I was waiting outside the front of my house for my cousin who was picking me up to go to a dinner. So while I was waiting, I looked up at the stars, facing south about 45-60 degrees above the horizon. One "star" caught my eye because it was moving quite rapidly westward. I tracked it for less than a minute and in that time it had travelled far enough for me to turn my head 120 degrees. When it reached that point, it disappeared from view.

This is a double post from another part of the board. Even  though my sighting was a few days prior I still found it interesting the similarities.

Hi everyone,
On the 9th August, 2009 at approx 6.25pm. we were all outside. When I noticed a bright star moving. I pointed this out to the rest of the family.  I rushed inside to grab my camera, I was able to take one photo it was moving to fast.. not as fast as a plane. There was no sound. It was travelling in a straight line.. Then just disappeared..  We have taken into consideration that it could have been a satellite.  We are unable to explain why it just vanished.

Here is the only photo I was able to capture. Soon as I got in focus it moved.

We did check the NASA site for tracking of satellites and came up with nothing.. Please feel free to search for me. lol

I've also googled for sightings for the 9th August, 2009 there are a few.

Here is the only photo I was able to capture. Soon as I got in focus it moved.

Photo no editing

Photo cropped only

What do you think?

How bizarre is this image. I thought at first it looked like a planet.. but can't be if its moving so fast.

Strange. Did you find anything more out on this one Mel?

Wow! Great picture.  In the smaller pic it looks like someone sitting cross-legged, maybe just the shades in the colours?
